February 28, 2019

  • Prayer requested for the husband of a parishioner’s friend  who had surgery about a month ago.  He continues to have medical issues and his health is declining…strength for his wife as she stays every night at the hospital.  Prayers of healing for him.
  • Please pray for Jim P. who has MS and is at a point of making decisions about more intensive care. 
  • Please pray for Flo who is having major surgery Thursday, February 28.  She has other medical problems that may affect the surgery.  
  • Please pray for John who is scheduled for gall bladder surgery this week, but has many other medical issues which may impede recovery.
  • Please pray for Constance who will be having ankle surgery in a few weeks.  
  • Please pray for Tom to have a safe and successful surgery.
  • Please pray that Jerry finds a job soon.
  • Please pray a special intention for a couple having marital issues that things will be reconciled between them and their family will stay whole and healthy and their love rekindled.
  • Please continue to pray for Kate’s health to be restored.

  • Earla Lewis, a parishioner, who died on February 24th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 1st, at 11 am in Saint Kilian Church. Earla’s obituary can be found HERE. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
  • John, who is scheduled for gall bladder surgery this week, but has many other medical issues which may impede recovery.
  • Please continue to pray for Kate’s health to be restored.
  • Please pray for Georganne, whose husband died very unexpectedly this morning.  Please also pray for her sons and for her 5 grandchildren who adored him.
  • Please pray for Eunice who is a cancer victim.
  • Please pray for Deacon Len s who has medullary thyroid cancer which is rare and accounts for only 4% of all thyroid cancers.  It is aggressive and does not respond to radiation or chemotherapy.  He had his thyroid removed and they are monitoring to see if there is cancer left anywhere in his body.
  • Please pray for Lois D, who is in the hospital with the flu and also has a UTI.
  • Thank you god and Holy Mother for Sean’s safe travels to job, and also for Tim.

  • Kate, that she might be restored to good health.
  • Danielle, a parishioner,  who has a concussion and muscular injuries following a car accident and a separate infection which are significantly impairing her school/work/other condition.
  • Two parishioners who will be traveling out of the country this week, that they might reach their destination and return home safely.
  • A young parishioner who has been dealing with daily headaches for over a year, that a treatment may be found to give her relief.  
  • Please pray for Kathy O who is having knee replacement surgery tomorrow February 26.
  • Please pray that S’s MRI results are favorable.
  • Please pray for a young woman with bipolar disorder who tried to commit  suicide.  
  • Please pray for Jan.  The doctors still have not found out what is causing her health issues.
  • Please pray for a young married couple who are not living the Christian message of forgiveness and love.
  • Please offer pray for a case before a magistrate on Thursday that it has a good outcome so Steph can move on with peace to a new job.

  • Vienna Maria Tommasino, a parishioner, who passed away on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will  be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:30 am in Saint Kilian Church. Vienna’s obituary can be found HERE. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
  • Michael, who was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of lung cancer, already in several parts of the body. Please pray that his doctors and his treatment will work miracles and that his family will remain a strong support network surrounding him with love and storming the heavens with prayer. 
  • Mike, who lost his father unexpectedly last week and is filled with grief and shock. May he and his family find comfort and his father rest in eternal peace. 
  • Bill who has dementia and it’s getting worse.
  • Mark L. who is in a lot of pain after bypass surgery. 
  • Patty who was advised by doctors to remain in the hospital to stabilize her medications.  She i threatening to sign self out.  She is very worried about cost.

  • Mary, a parishioner, who is elderly and has health issues.
  • Please pray for Aimee a 45 year old wife and mother of two young children (daughter 9 years old and son 14 years old) who has cancer and there is nothing more doctors can do.  Please pray for family and friends.  May Jesus hold them in His arms. 
  • Please pray for Michelle.  She just recently found out she has stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer and will be having chemo treatments starting today.  Please pray for peace of mind and that God will grant her a healing of all the cells in her body.

  • Michelle an old friend of a parishioner from work. She just recently found out she has stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer and will be having chemo treatments starting today. Please pray for peace of mind and that God will grant her a healing of all the cells in her body.
  • Please pray for Patty who is in ER with heart attack and will have immediate cardiac catheterization.  Please hold her in prayer.
  • Please pray for Susan who is having surgery today.

  • Please pray for Pat who has diverticulitis and is in a great deal of pain from an infection. Also that the antibiotics will work.

  • Clifford, cousin of a parishioner who is suffering from Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.  Please keep him and his wife, who is his caregiver, in your prayers.
  • Dr. John whose first anniversary of death is today and for his family who miss him dearly.
  • Bill who will be placed in assisted living this Thursday.  He has Alzheimer’s and is unable to be controlled at home with his walking out at night and needing to be found.  His family need prayers during this difficult time knowing he will physically and emotionally reject this move.
  • For all our seminarians, may there soon be an increase in numbers.
  • Please pray for Kim. Her husband Joe passed away this morning.  She is devastated.

  • Please pray for the soul of Delores Steck of Holy Sepulcher Parish who passed away on Friday, February 15.  She served faithfully as “deputy” for the ushers at the 10:30 Mass at Holy Sepulcher.

    Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Monday from 4-8 PM.  A service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Brownsdale Cemetery, Penn Twp.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

  • Sean who has found a living donor for his liver transplant (thanks to Jesus!).  That both he and his donor have safe and successful surgeries. 
  • Ruth O’Rourke, mother of parishioner, Katie (Tom) Graf, who passed away February 14th.    Ruth’s obituary can be found here on Schellhaas Funeral Home website. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 18th at 11 am in Saint Kilian. Church. May Ruth rest in peace and may her family be comforted in their loss.
  • Please pray for a young women four months pregnant that was in a bad car accident.
  • Please pray for Joan C. who will have her surgery on Monday, February 18.
  • Please pray for complete healing for Marcie.

  • Please pray for a parishioner who has to make a decision about upcoming surgery.  Pray the best decision is made with test results showing no cancer and God healing of associated health issues.
  • Please pray for children’s hearts to be softened towards a parishioner whose relationships have been strained and for the parishioner to feel peace while waiting for resolution.

  • Continued prayers for the husband of a parishioner’s friend as he is having complications from his surgery 8 days ago.  He is still in the hospital.  His stomach is not emptying and they are trying to figure out why. Pray for continued recovery and for his wife to have strength to care for him.
  • The men from Saint Kilian Parish who will be on retreat this weekend. May the retreat be a time of spiritual renewal.

  • John who began hospice care in his home, that he experience peace, safety, comfort and love of his family around him and that those caregivers placed to care for him are compassionate and provide him with exceptional care.
  • Maureen who has been on our prayer chain in the past. She will learn the results of her PET scan today to see if the current chemo treatment is working.
  • Father John who broke his hip and had surgery last Saturday. He’s not in good shape. Please pray for his recovery.
  • Wendy G. who had a stroke after surgery and is not doing well. She has 2 younger boys, so please pray for her complete recovery.
  • RJ who is having surgery tomorrow.

  • Jenna, the daughter of parishioners, who continues to recover from the effects of an automobile accident that occurred in October. May God grant her patience and may doctors provide the care needed to restore her to good health in body, mind and spirit.
  • Prayers of Thanksgiving!  The husband of a parishioner’s friend had a successful surgery Monday.  He is still not out of the woods but doing well.  Continued prayers please for a smooth recovery and for his wife as she cares for him.

  • Katelyn a 10 year old in Tulsa who collapsed in school this morning and was life flighted to hospital and on ventilator.
  • Joe, who was recently diagnosed with bone cancer.  Joe is in a lot of pain.  Please also pray for his beloved wife Kim, for strength and peace.

  • Molly , a young mother , 44 years old.  Molly is dying and her family is struggling to let her go.  Pray that they make the best decisions for her and that she has peace. 
  • John, the father of a parishioner,  who is fighting leukemia and began hospice. May he be comfortable and in peace, and know he is very loved.
  • Sherry, the sister of a parishioner, who is faced with cancer a second time.   She has been diagnosed with colon cancer and is having a large amount of her colon removed.  A recent CT scan found her adrenal gland to be the size of an orange, and they are planning to remove it as well.   Prayers for healing and a good outcome would be most appreciated.
  • Bob E. who has a large kidney stone and will be operated on February 14.
  • Janet who has a sprained wrist and is not healing well.
  • Lynn who has a serious liver condition which is causing severe pain.  Thank God it’s not cancer but she needs surgery.  She has a heart issue they need to resolve before they can do the surgery.  She has been in ER 3 times in two weeks.  May God bless the doctors so they can quickly remedy the heart and schedule surgery.
  • The niece of a parishioner, she is expecting triplets.  This is a very high risk pregnancy, please pray that these 3 little boys are healthy and will remain in utero until they can be born healthy.
  • Daniel who had a stroke.  All the prayers are working, he has made a wonderful improvement, is in rehab, eating, standing with help. Thank you for all your prayers and please continue to pray for a complete recovery.

  • Daniel, the nephew of a parishioner, who had a stroke. All the prayers are working, he has made a wonderful improvement, is in rehab, eating , standing with help. Thank you for all your prayers and please continue to pray for a complete recovery.

  • Please pray for Helen who recently had a heart catheter and is scheduled for part of her colon to be removed on Feb 14 for diverticulitis problems.
  • Please pray for a woman who had a hip replacement last fall, and now is having to undergo more surgery because there is some infection with her incision and it hasn’t healed properly.

  • Please continue to pray for Harry who had a stroke recently. He is coming along with rehab, walking with a cane, but still can’t use his left hand. He is also scheduled for surgery on his carotid artery to clear the blockage, which most likely was the cause of the stroke. Thank God his mind and speech were not affected!

  • Bill K. who fell  yesterday was taken by Life Flight with a broken pelvis and  internal bleeding.  They are waiting for further testing results.

  • Bill a parishioner who is currently hospitalized at NH Passavant.  He had flu like symptoms, became dehydrated and required medical attention which required a stay in the ICU.
  • The daughter and son-in-law of parishioners who are trying to overcome some medical issues. Their son-in-law recently found out that he has stage 4 cancer that has impacted his lymph nodes.  This in turn created a stress related issue that required their daughter to seek treatment and be hospitalized.
  • The husband of a parishioner’s friend who is having a serious surgery on Monday for cancer.  It is complicated because of his advanced age and multiple health issues.  For recovery from surgery and strength for all involved in caring for him!
  • Joan Kennihan, a member of Holy Sepulcher Parish, who passed away Friday  Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.  
  • Shirley’s cousin, Darlene, who passed away January 31st after a long battle with cancer. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.  She was only 48 years old.  Thank you everyone for your prayers.
  • Lori who recently had eye surgery. Please pray that her recovery goes smoothly.
